Innoxius Technologies to Deploy Mobile Digital TV Services in Asia Using Receiver Chipset from Siano Mobile Silicon

Singapore-based integrator aims to deploy Mobile Digital TV Services in designated Asian countries, leveraging the multi-standard capabilities of the Israeli chip maker

Singapore, February 15, 2006: Innoxius Technologies, a Singaporean broadcast and telecom networks integrator with expertise in cellular and wireless technologies, announced its plans to deploy Mobile Digital TV (MDTV) networks and services in several countries in Southeast Asia, allowing transmission of TV contents to portable and hand-held devices such as mobile phones, portable media players, notebooks and portable navigation systems. The receiving-end devices in these networks will be based on a multi-band, multi-standard receiver chipset from Siano Mobile Silicon, a fabless IC maker from Israel.

The MDTV services will consist of receivers supporting the DVB-H, DVB-T, T-DMB, DAB and Enhanced Packet Mode DAB standards, in various spectrum ranges, utilizing Siano's multi-standard and multi-band modules.

Innoxius presents its end-to-end MDTV solution at the 3GSM World Congress, taking place February 13-16 in Barcelona. The solution consists of cellular/ DVB-H equipment, macro DVB-H Basestation and PDAs/smartphones enhanced with MDTV receivers based on Siano's SMS1000 chipset.

"Mobile Digital TV is gaining accelerated recognition throughout Asia, and Innoxius is playing a major part in trials and service deployments in the region," said Edmund Yong, CTO of Innoxius Technologies. "Together with Siano we provide the ultimate solution: the receiver is slim in size, low in power and supports all relevant standard and spectrum bands, hence, the risk taken by the network operator is minimized."

The first MDTV network to be built and deployed by Innoxius is a DVB-H network in Indonesia. It is expected to go on technical trial starting next month with commercial trial following closely.

"The cooperation with Innoxius is extremely valuable for Siano, as it allows the company to get involved in the build of the network from scratch, and therefore make a significant contribution to optimizing the quality and the end user experience," said Dror Meiri, Product Marketing Manager of Siano. "Innoxius' outstanding system integration and deployment capabilities will certainly accelerate the process of mass adoption of MDTV in Asia," commented Meiri.
